Open new Kina account anywhere, anytime - Post Courier

Kina Bank yesterday launched its new online platform called the DigiBankr that will allow customers to open accounts from the comfort of their homes.

The Digital Customer Onboarding platform called DigiBankr is the first in market digital product offering customers real time account opening process.

What it does is basically allows new customers to go online and open bank accounts in the comfort of their own homes or workplaces using their smartphones, computers or tablets.


Kina Bank Chief Executive Officer Roppe Uyassi said the launching of DigiBankr further reinforces Kina Bank’s vision to be at the leading digital bank in PNG.

“The platform provides a fast secure and convenient way to open a bank account.

“It is a very exciting development, It is the first of its kind in PNG for any bank and we are very pleased to be the one introducing it into PNG,” Mr Uyassi said.

The new platform also provides a fast, secured and convenient way to open a Kina Bank Savings Account as well as the account opening process is done real time whereby customers can upload their two forms of identifications, their signature, and complete a face ‘liveness’ check to receive their account details.


Upon successful completion of the process, customers can simply visit their nominated branch to collect a Visa Debit Card.

There are also no fees and charges for customers using DigiBankr.

The product went online last Monday December 11. So far 212 people have already open their accounts using the DigiBankr.

The number of customers excessing this product is expected to grow as the product become known to many.
