Australia (mini me of Uncle Sam) is not a secured supplier from China's perspective. They know Australia's defence spending and strategic posture is all about preparing for war with China - just read up the recent stories on the JSF, it's all about fighting a war with the Chinese over Japan or South China Sea.
You should read about Kevin Rudd's white paper about preparing for war with China when he was PM. His son in law curiously is Chinese.
