Green's are beating up some connection between coal mining and localised bleaching on northern parts of the Great Barrier Reef.

Now today there is an article in today's SMH says a majority of Australians want the reef saved rather than have a coal industry.

The two issues are conflated by the Green's but are not in any way connected by science.

I have only read that overuse of fertilisers by farmers is the cause of bleaching. Would the Green's get support for shutting down farming in Nth Qld to save the reef ... no bloody way.

Where has it been proven localised reef damage to the North has anything to do with coal? I cannot believe people are so gullible and so easily mislead.
