What will see oil demand surge in H2 is folks travelling again in planes, trains and automobiles. A coronavirus vaccine still seems a way off but as of today, there’s a treatment - Dexamethasone, a total game changer that stops folks dying, which is a really big deal that could move markets soon IMO. It’s a steroid already in such plentiful supply in UK (as an anti-inflammatory for eg arthritis) and costing £5 for a full 3 week course of treatment that the UK Govt made it freely available on the NHS as of last night. It prevents the immune system overreacting and stuffing your lungs (so it’s a bad idea for any COVID patients whose immune systems are doing the job correctly.) Successful trials show it’s going to save the lives of a third of those requiring ventilators who would otherwise die and 1/5th of those hospitalised and requiring oxygen who end up dead. It’s the first drug anyone has come up with in 6m that has any effect on mortality at all - I was listening to one of the Doctors in the team who developed it in UK on the Beeb this morning saying in all likelihood there will be other drugs, which in combination as a “COVID Cocktail” will reduce mortality even more drastically. So, folks are going to stop dying from coronavirus and they will travel and use fuel and there won’t be enough very soon.

Yes the report on Dexamethasone (DXM) sounds good, but it's from the same team that put out a dodgy negative report on HCQ just before touting DXM. Doesn't prove it's no good, but the politics flying around HCQ has been diabolical. Worth noting that DXM is claiming only a 30% success rate, and only for extreme cases (no effect in less extreme cases), so it's last-ditch not panacea.

HCQ, by contrast, has some impressive evidence, both clinical and other, eg.
