Covata Release 2.15‏

  1. 51 Posts.
    Hi All,

Someone recently asked about what was in the latest release so this is just FYI.

For me the Internationalization of the UI speaks volumes about management priority (Europe anyone)....

And a big shout out to Glyco, MO, Bozz, Writer and all the others who have been posting great research and commentary over the last couple of (amazing) weeks.

The latest version (2.15) of Covata Safe Share is available now on https://covata.io

For users logging in via the browser, the upgrade will be transparent.

For iPad/iPhone and Windows users you will need to upgrade before you can use covata.io:
      • For the iPad/IPhone go to the Apple App Store, search for Covata and then upgrade your app.
Note: It is necessary for iPad/iPhone app and Windows client users to upgrade before they can access covata.io
Key new features in the Covata 2.15 release:
    • Users can share content through another user's folder – Collaborators can now be granted permission by the folder’s owner to upload and manage content within the folder. This allows collaborators to share content with the folder’s owner and other collaborators.
      • Permissions-based sharing by user – A new set of permissions can be specified for each collaborator:
    • View – provides the collaborator with permission to view the content within a file or folder using Safe Share’s content viewer.
    • Download – provides permission to download content from a file or a folder.
    • Upload – provides permission to upload files to a folder.
    • Manage – provides permissions to manage a file or a folder and its content, including rename, delete and create/delete subfolders.
    • Links for Files – Each file has a URL, which can be copied and pasted to access it. This URL can be sent to a collaborator to directly access the file. The person the URL is shared with must authenticate themselves and the file must be authorized, so as security is not compromised.

    • Personal Email Integration – When sharing a file, a user can launch their native email client from Safe Share by creating a new email containing the addresses of the people they have shared the file with and the URL link to the file in the body of the email. The user can then edit the email before sending it.
Additionally Covata Safe Share 2.15 supports the following new features:
    • Single Sign-on through a SAML-based Identity Provider
    • Internationalization
    • Support for SAN-based storage
    • Improved Key Management and Security
