it really hits home the point imo

the only thing we can learn from what people believe is the "truth" is what they want to believe, what gets them out of bed in the morning.

on the one hand, we have those who rise to the idea that as a species we are collaborating and trying really hard to meet any challenge. we may not be hitting home runs, but we sure are giving it a good crack.

on the other hand, there are those whose only reason to live is to feel persecuted, conspired against, isolated or marginalized.
every roll of the dice is seen as a manipulated threat to their existence, and they seemingly love it, cant get enough, spend endless hours seaching for more and more proof that they are a victim.

I guess seeing yourself as an eternal victim and a that the system has failed you may help them sleep so that can ignore the realities of life that that the rest of us just deal with on a daily basis.
