Due to lockdowns which you don't support Germany has done much better than other countries.
Germany is not doing better than other countries.
Germany has restricted Covid only hospitals, has closed everything - only supermarkets, Chemists, and (some) doctors & clinics are open. During hard-lockdown even private doctors (dentists & specialists) were closed. Lufthansa planes and military planes were retrofitted to covid-transport-hospital planes, bringing very ill people from France, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Denmark...countries who were short of specialized equipment. The helicopters are flying all day, one military plane has just returned from its latest mission in Portugal.
Good thing is that there are enough ICU/hospital places to accommodate everybody who is ill.
Of course, what Germany did better than some countries - have by luck and knowledge- managed to come up with two vaccines. However, only one of those is being made (not enough quantities), the other will be ready by the 2nd half oy this year. The vaccination is slow going, from beginning of April more vaccination centers will be opening and GPs will be able to administer the vaccines. If everything goes to the plan -perhaps- by the end of August-early September...Germany will catch-up with other countries.
BTW. Does anybody knows what happened to Australia's (QLD) Covid-vaccine? Last year there were potentially some 190 vaccine candidates, this year the numbers are a tiny fraction of that.
