I've worked with ?????? dozens of specialists - I've lost count and god knows how many non specialist doctors, nurses etc.
In all that time -------------- I remember only a few - and, I mean a few - 3 or 4 doctors who were top class
plus one who was just plain uncanny - a friend of mine - a doctor - who was the best diagnostician I've ever met - but, that was his skill - and, his skills as a doctor stopped there - you wouldn't want him to treat you - just diagnose and thanks mate - now I'll get someone to treat it
nurses, yes - a few - few more than a few, but, still - rare.
duds - I've met in large numbers.
I don't count myself as good - I've known what I'm good at and what I'm dreadful at - one thing I was good at was spotting the obvious that everyone else had overlooked - and, I can't believe that so many could overlook the obvious for so long - but, there it is.
How we miss stuff that's right in front of our face whilst we stand about scratching our heads is a total mystery to me
it does cross my mind that the bigger the elephant is in the room - the more difficult it is to spot - odd, but, that's my feeling
