When I studied organic chemistry 60 years ago propylene glycol was termed a secondary alcohol having two OH groups. Otherwise termed a diol for this characteristic.
it is banned in Europe but not in the U.S.A. Not sure if small quantities in “barrier” products have a problem, I assume not given its approval there.
Incidentally if one fools Amazon by entering a valid UK address it reveals a range of sellers. These are not visible to Australian residents. The exclusive deal with Lloyds has, by inference ended and who knows apart from JF what the distribution arrangements are.
