I had two reasons for starting these notes, one altruistic, the other self-serving.
The altruistic reason for writing was the number of traders that were blowing up their accounts here during the GFC. You were around - you know how brutal that was. The attrition rate was grim. We lost a lot of good people. Every time there was a roll call, someone else was missing. My approach to the market meant I was weathering the storm, so I thought I might do a bit of good by providing some notes here to help others stay in the game.
The self-serving reason was the fear I might blow my account and have to go back to journalism, lol.
