"Stocks showed little reaction to news of credit restrictions in China and to what appears will be a bailout for Ireland. The action in China, centered in bank reserves, is considered a measured effort, well short of an actual change in rates. The Dow ended fractionally higher just over 11,200.
Rates were mixed with the 30-year Treasury ending three basis points lower at 4.25 percent. The dollar index was fractionally lower at 78.50. Oil and gold were steady, ending at $82 and $1,350." [Source: nasdaq.com., Mark Pender] ______________________________________________________
