Correct - I've bought bitcoins before and not only do you need to direct deposit, you also need to provide verification (which, as one of my most stupid moments, involved me sending a picture of my drivers license to a random I've never met).
This means you'll be able to buy coins with your credit card, and only verify once intially using the ISX system. Pretty amazing stuff.
