The market is manipulated by careful buying thar gets the price up on next to no volume at little cost, this then signals to the mug punters and daytraders that it is worth a shot, the shares are then sold off in as tight a trading range as can be held and if it looks like dropping off the original buyers will most likely try to absorb the smaller sells to give an impression that the stock is not coming under sustained selling pressure.
Once they have unloaded their scrip they give it one last shove into negative territory, the daytraders and mugs not wanting to get burned sell on mass and drive the price down further.
The original buyers may be buying at these levels to start the show all over again, the stupid daytraders and mugs go for a second bite trying to recoup previous losses.
Now if the Public had the same info as stock brokers then they could pick this scenario.
Why do you think retail investors keep getting burned and the brokers keep their fingers out of the fire?
Transparent market my ARSE.
