I can only come to the conclusion that an increase of Chinese influence and investment into Malaysias despot corrupt heirachy can and will be damaging to Lynas business operations. The more foothold China makes into Malaysia the more the Malaysian government will dance to their tune. As in the Solomon Islands. African countries. It will just take a bit more effort to coherse the Malaysians to turn their loyalties where they care little about western countries concerns (in regard to rare earths).Very naive im afraid to think Geely will have any positive outcomes for Lynas. Rather more leverage for the CCP.
