How about a user-pays model. Maybe you could tick a box on your tax return - "I love the ABC" box.
Supporters could simply tick the box, and pay say, an extra $350 a year? (less than a dollar a day would work for you - right?) Two million tick the box - you've got yourself $700 million.
You have your own station, and my taxes don't fund your views. It's a win/win.
You can watch away, secure in the knowledge that it truly is, your ABC.
