Trump is not your average president. He is a "cometh the moment, cometh the man" type leader. That moment has been created by people (people a lot like you) who have ignored and discredit the concerns of regular people by calling them stupid / uneducated / crazy / deplorable / bigoted / racist / homophobic / islamophobic / transphobic / misogynist / redneck / insane, etc.
The average person shuts up when met by that sort of abuse and vitriol. Especially when is comes from political leaders, business leaders, media, entertainment, and academics. Pretty much everyone who has authority and voice in society.
Trump told them to get bent. He turns up to work everyday when almost everyone else would have quit months ago. If the abuse, lies, mob behaviour, and incitement to violence, and at times frank lawlessness from his opponents bothers him, he does not show it. He stands up for all those people who felt pushed down. For that his fans are prepared to overlook his many personal flaws.
The elites scorn populist uprising.....but Democracy is by its nature populist. Populist uprisings occur when those in power systematically and chronically ignore the citizens and try and bully them into submission. Of course leaders condemn such uprsings - they are the ones that caused it. Rather than learning from their ways, the Democrats and other elites are doubling down on their deranged behaviour. Ignoring and insulting voters / customers generally is not a smart move . If this mystifies you, perhaps you have spent too much time is university / board rooms / fancy restaurants and not enough time in the real world
