America won't be able to keep up, although it won't happen overnight, with the rise of BRICS+ and, little further down the track, more Global South nations joining BRICS. Similar to what happened to the former Soviet Union, which wasn't able to keep up with Reagan although there is another theory that says it had nothing to do with Reagan's arms race...
Nothing last forever, not even for America. Time for them to 'clean up' their internal affairs - far too many things are out of whack - close all these (~800) expensive army bases in all parts of the world and then maybe their hard working citizens will get to live the 'American Dream' that never really was for real, which they deserve by all means. Nothing against ALL American people.
I'm thinking Americans, FINALLY, will make a good use of their geographical location that should be an envy of the world - a huge and rich mass of land separated from their potential enemies by two large oceans on the East and West coast. Only two land borders with a lot weaker and friendly nations. And, as extra, although some would dispute benefits of that, a supply of cheap-ish labour from the South (Mexico and other). If Americans finally control their southern border and can close / open it at will, which will eventually happen.
They will pursue more isolationist foreign policy, imo.
