I have been following 14D for 18 months and was very keen to invest. But I've lost conviction. Moriarty is a poor public speaker and doesn't sell the company effectively. He previously made wild claims about competing with lithium batteries that undermined his credibility, and hasn't spelled out a clear and logical path to profitability. The idea that heat is a key competitive advantage is interesting - but at the moment it's just an idea. There is too much risk at present, with a non-salesman at the helm who's not capable of selling the dream. I will sit on the sidelines until two to three commercial deals are negotiated and the technology has proven itself. In the best case scenario, I might buy in at 70 cents and take advantage of huge gains in the years ahead. I'm happy to forego very early gains to limit the still very sizeable downside risk.
