It's 18 months since I lost my last mate and I swore "never again". This thread and a softening has me looking again, and my son [still living at home] is looking at adoptions too.
Trouble with adoptions is that locally 80% seem to have "bull" in their name and the rest are working dogs, kelpies and border collies etc. But I want a classic "house dog" poodle, malt, bichon or small terrier and what do you know, they are not being put up for adoption.
This evening I have emailed a couple of breeders of smaller breeds selling young adult dogs. I may be shocked at prices demanded and need to keep looking. Let's see.
