    Agreed Bloater. And the woman in the story who'd had a "long and successful career in academia" considered herself too up market to apply for any job other than those that suited her qualifications and perhaps her usual level of monetary return.

    Sometimes you've just got to take whatever's going and if that means lowering the bar, getting of your high horse, getting your hands dirty, then that's what you've got to do.........or surprise surprise...........you'll be unemployed for far longer than any of us want you to be!

    Unemployment benefits are a privilege, not a right. There needs to be far more accountability of how taxpayers money is used, and a good hard look at the welfare system would be a good place to start. Those who abuse the system, spit in the face of those who truly need it.
