I read Ayn Rand as a fifteen year old for the sex (such as there was) and the anti-Christian ideas. It took me two minutes to figure out that if I tried to behave like one of her heroes, I would be friendless. Later at University I discovered that Ayn Rand was just a shoddy variation on Friedrich Nietzsche. My only debt to her writing is that she was said it was OK to be an atheist.
