I think Andrew Bolt did himself and the country a disservice with this "cheap-shot" interview with Hon Gladys Liu, MHR.
I have been to Hong Kong, Taiwan and PRC on multiple occasions for business, plus worked with ethnic Chinese business people in Malaysia Indonesia and here in Australia. Her English is 10000 X better than his Mandarin or Cantonese.
Bolt displayed no appreciation of the very real soft power exerted by the CCP which has tentacles reaching around the world. Her answers seemed to me entirely plausible and I believe she is exactly the sort of person we need in this country's parliament.
I like some of the things Bolt does, but he is too often like a bull at a gate and appears to be clutching at straws suffering from over-extension from trying to attract viewers to a 1 hour 5x weekly programs. He was better with 1 hour 1 / week plus some radio and his columns in Newspaper.
Gladys, please don't be bluffed by this rude insensitivity.
