I agree. I think driverless cars will have a massive impact on our society.
The obvious:
No road deaths
No car insurance
No panel beaters
No traffic infringement fines (where will that revenue come from?)
No drunk driving
Less obvious:
Real estate values - hard to figure out but I suspect people will put up with a longer commute and living on the coast or in the country will become more popular.
End of public transport. No trams (Melbourne). No passenger trains. Certainly if public transport does survive it will also become driverless.
End of car ownership.
