Will provide a 6-monthly update on how my 2 year experiment with my SMSF trading specs is going at the end of this month. Spoiler alert: has been the worst 6 months in my relatively brief share trading career. Quite something and a good learning experience, too. Not a single one of the 9 spec stocks I hold has had a run so far this calendar year, and neither has a single one of the 50 or so specs which I watch on a daily basis. Am down about 30% on my holdings. Looks like I have become an investor in at least 3 stocks ...
Not following the thread much anymore because of my long-term time frame, plus also been busy at work. Wife and I had lovely trip to Tassie again, looking for possible retirement locations.
