I haven't had the time or inclination to find out where this uber project to add 9kms of rail to inner Melbourne came from. It's certainly not mentioned in the Eddington Report.
However articles are popping up that suggest it could be named the desalmykipipeline route
in honour of previous projects by Labor governments which seemed like good ideas at the time.
The only good idea Dan has had is to continue the work of previous governments and replace the railway crossings - something Kennett would do alongside three or four other projects.
