Hi traders, investors, Would be interested in hearing opinions and some discussion of the short term effects that any invasion by Russia into Ukraine will have on the market, short term, and more specifically the ASX.
Obviously the uncertainty is causing some volatility currently, but when and if it happens will our markets take a dive? Will people head for financial "safe havens", gold etc; or will the effect be largely confined to eurozone. Talk about US sanctions causing disruption to gas supply will be a major issue.
Oil supplies may be hampered? Energy stocks?
Exports of grain and wheat from the region could be impacted by military action, would this be a positive for our ag sector?
Hope some of the more experienced investors who have been thru similar situations can add some info and ideas. Being able to translate and interpret the big picture is an incredibly useful skill to adopt in share trading.
