A bit difficult here as etf was a stock code, so you hit roadblocks when you search.
The attraction for me is I can invest in a sector, eg. gaming, biotech, staples, renewables, batteries, etc, and leave a % left to invest in direct shares. I invested in LICs for years but sometimes the volume there is so low, you can't sell or buy. So, LICs aren't even close to ETFs as far as I'm concerned.
Problem is, you really need access to the US markets if you want a wide range of ETFs.
HC is a great site, but I would like to see an ETF forum.
