Agree with most of what you say untill you say take fuel subsidies and turn them into any sort of electric fuel Subsidies. The goverment has got to stop controlling what we do by either taxing or handing out cash. The market will make good decisions. if the view is not cloded by political interest. Now that does not mean a complete cancleation of taxes. Co2 is bad. put in a carbon tax. Unfortunatly poiticiens take an all or nothing view on this. Carbon tax needs to start small but have a multi year plan of steady increases so people know it is comming and can prepare. The same is true with jump starting tecnology, some stimulus is a great start but it should not go for ever. Luckly in US this is happening subsidies for wind and solar have a phase out plan and all will be zero by 2024. EVs of all types recieve nice credits and they are phased out. Most of Tesla's credits go away in January it will be interesting to see how they do on thier own without gov help. They and GM are working hard to have them extended. If we need to shift away from carbon based fuels, I firmly believe we do, then impliment a tax on carbon and stop telling us how to do it. Seldom do poitieciens do the research to figure this out. they listen to to people that wine and dine them.
