far more prejudice comes from how one interprets what is written. if it doesn't agree with ones beliefs we are tempted to skim read. but if we like the tenor we read more closely. even then we distort what we read to confirm our own beliefs.
but those that don't bother to read stew in their own beliefs uncritically, unexposed to alternative ideas and beliefs. they become a stagnant brain.
