I don't think it would be a massive run of pipe to hit towns like Mildura or even Adelaide from suitable areas. Alice springs for that matter.
Just a whimsical thought about what the future might hold anyway.
I wonder if AZ has a saline water table?
Imagine an enormous fish farm under the canopy! Would the thermal mass of the water overcome the heat lost to evaporation?
