My guess is that it was on the agenda, considered at board level but they have thrown in a curve ball. Hence the use of the word "unpredictable" in the announcement.

and the good news, with the internal process complete, there is no reason to stay in suspension, imo. We can legitimately say to the market

"We have done all we can to get this deal done and the ball is firmly in the court of NMDC, we await their decision in due course. In the mean time, we're off to Tokyo!"

If the deal is still alive but not yet done, it will be interesting to see what the market thinks of all of this given the many positives/opportunities and indeed the political environment is firmly in our favour
