I can't see these planes and weapons getting used in anything outside of small skirmishes. Invading small powers and proxy wars seems to be the order of the day. Currently none of the big powers dares to attack any military hardware belonging to one of their major opponents for fear of setting off a major war. In such a war, as soon as a major power sees that it is loosing a conventional battle it will consider launching the nukes followed by retaliation, and it would all escalate quite quickly.
I just wish they could all stop the sabre rattling and mine is better than yours arguments and sit down and peacefully decide how to share the world. A bit of give and take. Ok, I'm an optimist lol.
