So sorry to hear that, Madmin. As you well know, I've been around HC for a LONG time (as have you), and Madmacs has been one of the constants in an otherwise fluctuating population of blowhards, experts, idiots, characters, and knowledgeable folks. Many have blown in for a short time then faded away. We have had trolls galore. We have had blatant up-rampers and down-rampers (especially the latter), we have had political stirrers.
But Madmacs has been a steady hand, a calm influence running through all of the above, with a lovely sense of humour to take the edge of an otherwise well targeted rebuke to somebody.
I hadn't known he was sick, so this has come as a surprise, although it had registered in my foggy brain that I hadn't seen him around for some time.
RIP Madmacs (John) - may your eternal chart be in a permanent up trend.
