In Victoria they do not road worthy vehicles every year like they do in NSW and most other countries in the world. So a driver can drive around in vehicle with bald tyres, poor brakes, no indicators and risk accidents for years without ever being checked.
I would like to know what the statistics are for vehicles that cause accidents and fatalities that are a direct result from not being in road worthy condition.
After driving NSW for 30 years and one speeding fine moved to VIC and copped five speeding fines in five years which were all under 5klm's over and less. The speeding tollerence in Victoria is just 3 Klm's over. They also hide the speed cameras on the highways.
Sorry but it is all about revenue raising. The income from speed cameras in 2012/13 year in Victoria was 293 Million. Here is the link:
