Not sure if someone posted this, but some flu vaccines are made with dog kidney cells from a cell line harvested from a female cocker spaniel dog in 1958. 1958 would mean, I assume, that the cell line is"immortalized", having acquired the capacity to divide indefinitely. Immortalization is considered by some to be a first stage transformation towards cancer cells.
There are other vaccines produced from a human foetus cell line, WI-38 and HeLa cell line, actually derived from cervical cancer cells.
