Very pleased to read that you were a "staunch opponent of Labor's last franking credit fiasco." I also was strongly opposed to the Bowen/Shorten non refundable franking credits proposal.
I am also apposed to the current proposal (initially proposed by the Morrison Govt.) If the Co has franking credits then, at some stage, the Co made a taxable profit and paid tax on that profit, or received a distribution of FF dividends. The credits belong to the shareholders. Seems reasonable, IMO, to be able to distribute the credits. Plus, IMO, legislation should never be retrospective.
