Trannie actually sounds much more friendly than transexual. Seems the controllers have their knickers in a knot over nothing much. Mind you we used to call our radios trannies, but can't see anything outrageous or discriminatory in referring to transexuals as trannies. One day the people who feel their identities and emotions hurt by words may just take the time to look out of their backyards and see so many other people in our world who really do have something to complain about.
