An Interesting report slashme, of course those rather bullish growth figures are off a low base but there is no reason why the growth story won't continue (at slightly reduced rates) into the future. I always thought that even though LCE was used as production measure Lithium Hydroxide was actually the preferred raw material for batteries, not Lithium Carbonate. This AI report says that there is substantially more Lithium Carbonate used in NCM batteries than Lithium Hydroxide. Of course there are many other sorts of Li-Ion battery cathodes than just Nickle Cobalt Manganese (the 3 numbers after NCM define the metal ratios) but currently they dominate EV battery packs so they are the important volume growth story.
