Words have a gender, masculine, feminine or neuter, unless you are a Frenchman when even abstract thoughts and inanimate objects have a gender, masculine or feminine - no neuter. Animals, birds, fish, insects and people have a sex, male or female. Look it up in a decent dictionary of the English language. Those who insist that living people have a gender are simply only partly literate. Can we get back to communicating in the English language. How does it change the facts of some parties sordid lifestyle to use good English words incorrectly? How is the English language enhanced if we have another word to use in parallel with the word sex? Or perhaps someone who uses the word gender as a replacement for the word sex can explain to me how they differentiate between the meanings of these two words as they use them.
