I think it is mainly geography that makes it difficult to have a lithium mine and a downstream processing plant in the same location.
We are lucky that NAL is located right in the middle of a well established mining jurisdiction where processing of other minerals has been done for many decades.
It means that the infrastructure and technical know how, is already there.
The reason Arcadium is building a lithium hydroxide plant in Becancour, is because their mine in Northern Quebec is too remote to have such a facility.
It has been mentioned before that a fully integrated operation will allow waste material (which in the case of lithium is about 95% of the ore) to stay at the mine site.
It should not be understated how much of an advantage this will be to SYQ.
