Its interesting that Orocobre merged with Galaxy forming Allkem and more recently that Allkem is merging with Livent to accelerate their volume of growth into the North American market where there is certainly no shortage of spodumene miners but a big shortage of downstream converters.

LU7 as per the above article has recently acquired land to establish lithium conversion in Quebec.

Now whether they source from one of their own Arcadium (james bay) or other projects in James Bay or they will simply be able to expand carb/hydro feed requirement to include SYA or we simply secure a 3rd party partner elsewhere remains to be seen.

But certainly current rail infrastructure is a big factor. Its all good and well having a 100Mt resource further north, but if you have no means to transport it and access is more painful it turns into a logistical nightmare or is delayed for years until the infrastructure required is rolled out.
