Let nobody knock the indirect benefits of the collapse of Firefinch, particularly from the perspective of the socialist activists among us. Who cares if mum & dad in Moorooka have been robbed of their retirement savings: there’s backstop soup kitchens and a basic government pension, including false teeth and spectacles, available to an Australian that is not available to a Malian. We should all be celebrating this magnificent failure as a magnanimous gesture in pursuit of equality of opportunity & outcome, and a strike against self interest and capitalism!
