Will be interesting to see how their battery tech performs as that could completely change the niobium market demand if it is successful. Would be very helpful to us, obviously.
as for his comments on supply/demand - he specifically references that they need to grow the market - which is why they are happy with us appearing, despite it not seeming logical on face value.
expectations are that by 2030 the niobium market will have grown by 60% assuming no breakthrough advances in battery use. That means for us to deliver 35k tonnes per year we will need to take circa 18% market share. So techncially, we could do this without even touching cbmms current 80% share (we would just replace the Canadian producers). But obviously, due to the gepolitics, we will take some share from cbmm.. how ever it's hardly dramatic for them looking at these percentages especially when they know another low cost producer will stimulate awarenes and demand.
