Also the other thought I have is what did everyone expect the death knell for ICE to look like. It won’t be a simple steady thing. Countries and companies whose economies and business are dependent on their vehicle manufacturers (particularly ICE) will do everything to resist EVs from China that will destroy ICE. I guess the issue is this could be a problem for a while if ICE manufacturers in EU and US hold a gun to the head of their governments while continuing to refuse to cut their sunk costs on ICE and make the costly switch to EV manufacturing. Governments will have to decide at some point what to do. How do they force manufacturers to make more EVs when car companies know governments are dependent on their profits. I think the answer comes when their export market for ICE cars truly collapses as has started to happen with Germany. I think it’s at 6% off the top of my head. But that’s pretty massive. China itself has been the biggest market for German ICE and that is just about dead right now.
