One way to indirectly reduce the time and "recoup" the cost difference between an EV and ICE vehicle is to buy an EV that has V2G capabilities which negates the need to buy a home battery e.g. you wouldn't a Tesla power wall costing approx. $AU13K and you can still get a government rebate on the EV...
I am a huge fan of home solar power systems having had a system with battery for 7 years. Well over 60% of our power comes from this.
Power systems with battery storage are a no-brainer and that is another reason why RNU has such a bright future.
