yeah, I did that for a few years and never really went anywhere. with the smallies I have made quite a bit. only thing is you have to monitor them, call quits on your mistakes quickly and not be shy to take profits.
AHZ make a bovine based patch which serves as a matrix onto which the patients cells migrate and which is eventually absorbed. there are no long term problems with calcification which affects the current patch. has been adopted by leading specialists and is now in 60 + centres in US and Europe and they are only centres that have reordered. also into Canada and first sales into HK and Singapore. originally designed for patches of holes in pediatric patients it is now being used for valve reconstruction.
Each operation uses about 2-3 patches. the patches retail for 1300 maybe a bit more with recent currency fluctuations. profit margin is still unclear but think they are aiming at about 60% profit from presentations.
Andrew Forrest is a big investor.
The vaccine I referred to is a 50% interest in Prof Frasers vaccination research.
Currently market cap is 130m which is not that small but with surgeries appearing to be 600 this last quarter are starting to grow and should continue to grow exponentially. was less than 1000 for all of last year. as I am sure you would understand pediatric cardiac surgeons are conservative and it has taken a while for the product to take off but some of the leading surgeons are now presenting for the company at conferences etc.
Morgans has a reco on it of 22c.
