"It appears the worst is yet to come. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), Australian mining exploration expenditure tumbled 31% in the March quarter to $318 million in original terms. Expenditure hasn’t been this low since the March quarter of 2006, 11 years ago. It’s also a 70% fall from the peak in June 2012."
March Qtr is usually the low Qtr for exploration due to it being the wet season. But the trend is still down and no sign of any improvement in commodity prices.
