Skoll, that statement is foolish to say the least. I mean how ignorant can one man be? I guess very to Skol is now a rating.
Theres 0.35g of silver and 0.03g of gold per smartphone, where a billion are sold each year and 1.8 billion phones sold in total. That's already 350T of silver and 30 T of gold in the smartphones yearly sales alone, with 800m more phones (your more basic ones) not even counted in that figure.
You have to remember there's more than just smartphones in the world.. There's many electronic devices which use gold and silver, so to say the figures are negligible is insane. As electronics grow and become more of a part in our lives, the more precious metals will be used. So, that barbaric material you rag on every day allows you to do just that, rag on it on your computer on websites.
