Role Overview:
To continue to propel Global Laser Enrichment (GLE) forward as a growth steamroller we are hiring an entry level IT End User Support Technician at our Wilmington, NClocation (yes, you could work near the beach!).
This role will report to the Information Technology & Security Manager (ITSM). This role will provide technical support to users in an efficient and accurate manner. You will be considered as the front lines and you will solve basic technical problems and provide support for all assigned areas.
About the Role:
- Design and implement new network solutions for improving network efficiency.
- Implement effective network security measures.
- Maintain computer networks including VPNs, routers, switches, and other network infrastructure.
- Install and configure network equipment including firewalls, routers, switches, and other network related equipment to maximize network efficiency and security.
- Manage firewalls and network security systems to keep data and communications protected.
- Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Arrange and schedule upgrades, patches, and firmware updates for network devices.
- Report network status to management personnel.
- Maintain current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
- Document any changes to IS networks.
- Manage an enterprise Call Manager.
Assist ISSM with the following activities:
- Responds to requests by users for hardware and software support.
- Reports on frequently addressed issues to identify broader challenges.
- Images/deploys/maintains PC hardware, software (OS & Applications), printers and peripherals.
- Assist users accessing systems and software.
- Assists in training users on various PC based software systems (e.g., Microsoft Office, engineering application, remote access, etc.).
- Asset Management.
- Act as back up for Systems and Network Administration functions.
- General device management and repair/replacement support
- Provide support on enterprise IT projects and tasks.
- New system imaging.
About You:
- You must have an active DOE/NRC Q-clearance or equivalent (DOD Top Secret).
- Security + certified (ability to obtain within 1 year).
- 2 years of end user support and troubleshooting.
- Strong Customer service skills.
- Experience with Windows Desktop OS and Server OS, Mobile Device (IOS/Android), Microsoft Office 365, Azure, Active Directory administration, general server administration.
- Strong understanding of PC hardware and peripherals.
- Good communication skills.
- Good understanding and practice of cybersecurity, networking and OPSEC.
- Broad knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Client Hardware.
- Exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills.
- General knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols.
- Ability to think independently to meet requirements.
- Self-starter with good written and verbal communications skills, along with the ability to pre-plan, coordinate, prioritize, and multitask.
