The figures are temporary though. I posted an article from a demographer at ANU and she claimed that arrival numbers since Covid are only very slightly up on pre covid levels. The issue is the num,bner of departures due to lockdowns. The projections are that migration numbers will begin receeding from now as departures increase. It's probably a main factor for the Govt forecasting deficits from now on.
